Basic settings

After logging into your recorder, you will see 4 drop down menus at the top of the screen.

Live viewing, here you can watch live footage.

Playback, here you can watch back images.

Logbook, here you can find all the actions of the recorder.

Configuration, here you can change all settings of the recorder.

If you go to configuration, you will soon see a list of menus and submenus. It is best to complete the row from top to bottom. See the following checkpoints to watch out for:

APPARATIVE SETTINGS

'Time settings' - 'synchronize with computer time'

CAMERA SETTINGS

'Screen settings' - Camera name: "camera01" or "driveway"/"front door" etc.

- Change date format to 'DD-MM-YYY'

'Schedule Settings' - Click Edit, under 'Record Type' select   motion detection. Then click 'Select All'   and click 'Copy'. Then click "OK.

Now click 'Copy to' and select all cameras.

'Motion Detection' - Grid out, the camera records only   when motion is detected in the grid.

- 'Sensitivity' at least set to '1'.

- 'Turn on motion detection' must be checked.

- Press 'save'.

- Do the same with the rest of the cameras.

*The cameras now record only on motion

User management - Change the default password by clicking on 'admin' and click on 'change'.

Network settings

To access your recorder from the outside, ports must be forwarded in the router. You can do this by logging into your router. The IP address of your router is equivalent to the Default Gateway. If your gateway is 192.168.2.254 is, then you can use this to access your router.

The gateway differs by provider, see below for the standard settings of KPN and ZIGGO:

KPN: 192.168.2.254

username: admin

password: kpn (or no password!)

Ziggo: 192.168.178.1

username: ziggo

password: wireless

With KPN you can open the ports in the menu DATA, -> NAT -> Port Mapping

Here you can open the ports for the recorder. By default, ports 8000, 80 and 554 are set on the recorder for this purpose. In the router, these must be set up and it goes as follows:

  • Add a rule
  • LAN IP = IP address recorder (in the example, 192.168.2.100 used)
  • Protocol Type = TCP
  • LAN Port = 8000
  • Public Port = 8000

  • Add another line
  • Fill in all the information again, only now enter port 80
  • Add another line, fill in all the data, and now enter port 554

At ZIGGO, go to "advanced settings". Under "Gaming and applications" you will find "Port forwarding". This is where you enter the data.

At www.myip.nl you can find out your external IP address. You can use this IP address to access the recorder via computer, mobile or tablet.
